It’s been a little while since I last posted a video in this beautiful series of Macramé Air Plant Hanger tutorials but as promised, here is the next design in the collection. This has got to be one of my favourites because of it’s beautiful hugging design. I mean honestly, have you ever seen a snugger looking glass bowl?

DIY Kits and PDF written patterns
This Pattern for an Air Plant holder work best with a glass bowls so that you can make use of all the light that comes in through the design. If you are interested in purchasing one like the one I use for this pattern, you can find this in my shop as well as a DIY kit with a full written PDF pattern, rope, wooden ring and glass bowl.

Knots used:
- Half Square Knot
- Square knot
- Wrapping Knot

Materials:
- 1 wooden ring – 3.5cm/1.4inches wide
- 1 x 10cm/4 inch diameter glass bowl
- 5mm twisted cotton cord 24m in total
- Measurements:
- 1 x 180cm / 70.86 inches for the inner cord
- 1 x 360cm / 141.7 inches for the outer cord
- 16 x 100cm / 39.4inches to make the basket
- 100cm / 39.4inches to make wrapping knot
You can use a different plant pot by tailoring the adjustments to the size of your pot. If you decide to make one, please share a picture and your comments with me here or on my social media:

Love that you include the total measurement for the project. Could this be made with 4 mm cord. Or would it be much smaller . It is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between a 4 mm and a 5 mm. Depending where you buy. Ceri X
Don’t worry, the difference isn’t too great between 4mm and 5mm. The thinner the rope, the less you use with each knot as its knotting around a thinner bunch of rope so you will be fine to follow the same measurements and may find you have a little more excess when your finished. Which is better than starting the project and running out of rope in the process. Goodluck. Ceri
